Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has more than lived up to the hype of Origins. But there is one bug that is worryingly becoming more common amongst players.
A frame rate issue is significantly affecting some playthroughs, with the noticeable drop occuring during the most inopportune of times – when you’re surrounded by scores of angry non-friends wielding shiny hurty spiky things.
The frame rate is obviously caused by the legions of NPCs who fill the screen during such battles, but it is nonetheless an annoying issue. Some players are reporting needless deaths, whilst others are having to reload their save files just to drive the story forward.
On the whole, it is a single issue that players would be unlucky to encounter once or twice in their playthrough. And it seems to only occur during times of great texture demand. However, fans are a little disappointed to find that the issue remains following the latest patch – update 1.0.3, which became available yesterday. It must be proving too technical for a quick fix.
Worryingly, we may be entering a time of great uncertainty when it comes to stability on the PS4, more specifically the base console, as it appears these AAA games are getting too big for its boots. Perhaps the PS5 can’t come soon enough.
Be sure to check out our review, which is a little closer to home than Ancient Greece.
