Assassin’s Creed Origins January Update Doesn’t Include New Game Plus

Assassin's Creed Origins

As we expected, a new update for Assassin’s Creed Origins is planned to coincide with the release of its first expansion. But all that glimmers isn’t gold, as they say, and unfortunately the greatly demanded new game+ mode is missing from the patch highlights.

Ubisoft did say they were looking into the practicalities of adding the replay option so perhaps they’re still looking into it. But all is not lost as this upcoming patch is not to be sniffed at. Included is a new quest, planned as a celebratory nod to the expansion, and the option to sell your outfits. The studio have also included an ‘update to the Heka chests item pool, which adds the items from the Nightmare and First Civilization packs, as well as the Gladiator and Wacky packs to the pool’.

The first expansion to hit Assassin’s Creed Origins is called The Hidden Ones and pits Bayek against the Romans who rule over a new region. This new story is described as vast and is free to all Season Pass holders. It will also bring with it a level cap rise to 40 from the previous limit of 45.

January will also see the return of two Trials of the Gods events. These are scheduled as follows:

  • Anubis – January 9–16
  • Sobek – January 23–30

And that is still not all. A number of new packs, outfits and Ubisoft Club Rewards are also launching, including quite a snazzy For Honor Pack. They almost look too good to bloody!

Are you still loving Assassin’s Creed Origins? Or are the grains of time running low? Do you even remember the dinosaur that is For Honor? Feel free to comment below.
