Who doesn’t love a good leaky studio, right? Honestly, it’s more often than not these days that we learn of new games via leaks instead of the game’s developer/publisher.
The latest leak is Ubisoft’s unannounced Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Yep. They dug into the barrel of cliché subtitles and pulled out the most over-used, unimaginative one they could find. Still, there’s more to a game than just its name.
According to the leaker who posted an off-screen image of the game over on Reddit, Assassin’s Creed: Origins is being developed by the same Ubisoft team that brought us Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Now, we’re not too sure on the reliability of this leaker, so take everything with the usual dosage of salt.
The leaker also claims that the game will have a present-day aspect, though there will be no Desmond Miles. Er, we kinda guessed that, considering the ending of Assassin’s Creed III… He/she also says that the game is being built using a revamped version of the Anvil engine and that Ubisoft will start dishing out info on the game before the end of May with the full reveal to take place during E3.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins will supposedly take place in Egypt, though we’ll just have to wait and see. Oh, about that crocodile, take a look at the picture below and you’ll see the prompt in the top left. PETA will be going mental…
