UPDATE: Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been confirmed to be in development at the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio. This announcement was unceremoniously dropped on the Beyond Good & Evil Facebook page and is also on the Ubisoft studio page. You can see the announcement and what looks to be some concept art here. The original story follows.
With the release of Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian becoming real (at least they have dates), it is not impossible to believe that other games, such as Good & Evil 2, might also someday be a reality. While some of us are skeptical and downright cynical about a game for which the last trailer was released in 2008, our stony hearts can still be stirred by a teaser image released by the game’s creator on Instagram.
When Eurogamer reached out to Ubisoft for a comment, they predictably gave the usual PR response:
“Michel is currently sharing his time between Ubisoft and Wild Sheep studios. The artwork he posted is from the game he’s currently working on at Ubisoft. We don’t have anything further to share at this stage.”
We would not get too excited when Michel Ancel states, “Endangered species – now saved – Game in pre-production – Stay tuned!“. It could mean anything really.
