As expected, the next instalment in the Call of Duty franchise will of course be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. After the recent leaks and what have you, it was only a matter of time before Activision made the announcement, which it has now done.
However, don’t get too excited. The announcement was just that: an announcement. The publisher basically just came out and said “yeah, we’re making Black Ops 4. Deal with it.” Now we’re obviously paraphrasing a little there, but that’s the jist of it. There’s no gameplay, no fancy trailers, and no information about the game’s features, settings, or anything else.
We do have a release date, though, as Activision was kind enough to at least give us something. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will release on PS4 this October 12th. Yep, that’s a full month earlier than Call of Duty usually releases. Perhaps the November release date of Red Dead Redemption has prompted Activision to re-work its release schedule? Who knows and, more importantly, will it affect our everyday lives or enjoyment of the game? Nope.
If you’re chomping at the bit for more Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 news, you’ll have to wait a few weeks. Activision also announced that the reveal event will be on May 17th. That’s almost two months away. Talk about teasing…
Naturally we will continue to follow any and all Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 news, so stick with Pure PlayStation and we’ll keep you in the loop.
