It’s that time of year again when threatening people for candy is not only expected but it’s actively encouraged. In celebration of this sweet-criminality, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is hiring itself a Frankenstein outfit, stringing the house in cobwebs and inviting around all of the undead it can find in its phone book. And for the record, it’s more a yellow pages. Jeepers creepers…
Halloween Scream, as it has been dubbed, will pit your mortal bones against the creme de la crème of the graveyard, whilst also offering double XP and free spooktastic loot. Just try to stay alive, yeah?
To start with, the new Boss Mode will see you facing the biggest and baddest walking dead around after every zombie experience. Or as Infinity Ward words it, ‘
straight-to-the-boss-battle modes.’ And although initially it will be limited to Zombies in Spaceland, the infection will spread to the other maps, namely Rave in the Redwoods, Shaolin Shuffle, Attack of the Radioactive Thing, and The Beast from Beyond.
Loot wise, by logging in each week, players can expect a free Halloween-themed Supply Drop and free cosmetic items every Friday. And the last week promises something better than weapon variants, camos, a Calling Card, or Rig skin, so make sure you don’t miss that.
In addition to the above:
Survive the post-apocalyptic wasteland of carnage
Carnage is one of the multiplayer maps from the fourth Infinite Warfare DLC Pack, Retribution. This post-apocalyptic wasteland is also the home to one of Call of Duty’s deadliest environmental hazards: The Burninator.
Devious players will punch the button and activate the fire trap just as their opponents enter a barbecue they wish they’d never been invited to. Carnage will be free to play on its own playlist from 12th October through 1st November, and will also offer up Double XP.
Gesture warfare returns
Infinity Ward is also bringing back Gesture Warfare as part of Halloween Scream, which will allow you to get kills with nothing more than the power of gestures. So you can Flick, Crush, Bang Bang, and Boom your way to victory in this new game mode, full of tricks.
Does Call of Duty’s zombies keep you coming back for more? Will a Jack O Lantern make things that little more atmospheric? Do you try your best to channel Rick Grimes but end up more like Ricky Martin? Let us know.
