Doctor Fate Reveal and RPG Character Customization in Injustice 2

Injustice 2 has dropped some big news. First, the powerful sorcerer, Doctor Fate, will be joining the cast of playable characters. We have never seen someone use an ankh as a weapon, so this may be a first. The trailer shows it stabbing Superman like a knife or punching him around the room.

The second interesting bit of info is that Injustice 2 will feature the stats of Health, Ability, Defense, and Strength. Gear can be acquired through online or offline play, and you can use that to improve your character’s stats as you progress through the game. There will be gear for your legs, head, arms, and chest, and there will be bonuses for having a complete set. The benefits will be different depending on what gear you have, but some will allow you to earn XP faster or avoid environmental damage.  Characters will even be able to pick different loadouts to suit their play style.

For those who want to stand out from the crowd, you will be able to change the look of your character with different shaders. This look will transfer over to the Tournament mode, even though your gear will not. It is a great opportunity to really make your hero your own.

Injustice 2 will build on the story of the previous game. Superman is beyond angry, and he is looking to eliminate all crime on his quest for vengeance. You will have your change to pound the Man of Steel into another dimension when the game hits shelves on May 16th in North America and May 19th in the UK.
