At its press conference tonight, Bethesda showed a trailer for a version of Doom playable in VR. The disembodied Doom Guy’s hands are visible and the weapons are clearly displayed in front of you, as in the normal version of the game. However, we cannot imagine the pinky demon’s charge being any more terrifying.
There does appear to be some form of teleportation to move you around the screen, but we have not received any details as to how that works.
Doom VFR looks like a PSVR version of the same Doom with all the exploding bloody bits we already love, and it will be released this year.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
