The PlayStation team has been doing a great job with its many interviews during E3 2018. (A little brown-nosing never hurt anyone, eh?) One of the latest interviews features Hideo Kojima, the director of Death Stranding.
Will we learn the secrets of the game here? After watching the trailer during the presentation, I didn’t learn much more about the game, and I was left with more questions than answers. If you are like me, you are probably still trying to make heads or tails of it all, so it’s best to share this with you. We can all be lost together.
For another perspective into the game, Herman Hulst of Guerrilla Games talks about the tech. Death Stranding is using a modified version of the engine used to create Horizon Zero Dawn. That game was not ugly, but it’s interesting to see the design taken in another direction. We have a verbal tug of war here about how good HZD was, but the engine is a quality foundation.
Check out the full interview in the video at the top, and be sure to give us your theory on the world of Death Stranding. It could be anything, so you could be right.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
