The PSVR zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine provided us with a great reason to scream out loud in fear (review). The free DLC or “DLZ” update coming next week is a reason to scream for joy. It is only a suggestion. Scream for any reason you like, we guess.
The update will include two new Horde maps that are bigger than previous maps. Old Mine takes place underground, and it will give one player a flashlight. Playing on a fear of the dark will be a big part of the map. Other players can earn a flashlight after successful waves have been defeated.
The map is designed to force players to scrounge for supplies outside any areas that would provide you with a reasonable defense. The zombies will spawn in those areas too, so good luck picking up that ammo.
The second map is Undead Valley. It is set in a warehouse that has been converted into a casino. The area is not the only new aspect. The game will not hit you with waves of enemies with a definite stop and start. It will keep throwing zombies at you while you open new doors with keys found in the level or use a grenade to remove obstacles. The constant pressure will keep everyone tense.
The free DLZ Update can be downloaded on November 28th.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
