GRIP, the racing game being developed by Caged Element Inc, and published by UK-based Wired Productions, have released a brand new trailer for the upcoming arcade racer.
The trailer, which you can watch up above, is all about hitting top speeds and racing wherever your wheels can gain a bit of traction. Yes, that means literally driving up the walls.
GRIP is a throwback to simpler times when games were pure fun and madness – especially racing games. In recent years we’ve kind of lost the daft arcade racer to the serious simulations, so it’s good to see that some in the industry are keeping the flame alight.
“It’s a dream come true to once again find myself working on another great racing project” said Robert Baker, principal programmer for GRIP and former lead programmer at Rollcage’s developer, Attention to Detail. “There are so many elements to GRIP that take me back, and I love the true racing experience that Rollcage and now GRIP both deliver. GRIP is truly poised to be the spiritual successor to the Rollcage games of the late 90s that so many people loved playing.”
The press release sent out by Wired Productions also states that there will be support for both the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro, though details were not given.
GRIP is currently available on Steam Early Access, but it’s going to be sometime this Autumn before us console folks can see what 700 miles an hour feels like. For once, I’m grateful for lack of PSVR support. I’d be chundering all day long.
