NetherRealm Studios’ super-hero brawler Injustice is getting a sequel, and it’s titled Injustice 2. Easy enough to remember…
The game will feature “all of the things that you’d expect from a sequel”, according to the developer. “We’ve introduced a brand new Gear System, allowing players to build their own version of Superman, their Batman, and, ultimately, their Injustice Universe,” NetherRealm’s Tyler Lansdown wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
You’ll basically get to customise your characters with different traits and the like via in-game drops, though how that’ll work hasn’t been shown in motion. Sounds interesting, though.
And for fans of the game’s lore there will of course be a story to give some context as to why Superman is kicking Batman in the bollocks every five minutes. “When last we saw them, Superman was imprisoned in a Red Sun prison cell, while Batman was continuing the good fight against the forces that would see Superman’s tyranny back in power,” Lansdown continued. “Where do we go from here? And what new characters will join the fight?”
There’s no solid release date as of yet, only that it’s coming in 2017, though if we had to hazzard a guess at a release period then we’d go for April/May 2017; the game’s predecessor released in April, 2013.
