Square Enix and Disney are working together to bring us the real voice actors for many of the roles in Kingdom Hearts III. Between the two giants and the profile of the series, it’s expected, but it does so much to make the game and worlds believable. (I am not sure I have used the buzzword immersion today, but we gaming sites have to ration it.)
Who can you expect to hear? So far, the Frozen cast is very well-represented with Josh Gad, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Idina Menzell (or Adele Dahlzeem if you are John Travolta) return to their roles as Olaf, Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa respectively. Tangled will pick up the voices of Flynn Ryder (Zachary Levi) and Mother Gothel (Donna Murphy).
For now, we only have a few other voice actors confirmed. Toy Story fans will be pleased to hear the voices of Hamm (John Ratzenberger) and Rex (Wallace Shawn). The legendary strongman, Hercules, will be voiced by Tate Donovan. Kevin R. McNally will be providing the voice of Gibbs from the Pirates of the Carribean movies.
The main three characters will all be voiced by the same favorites, so no worries there. Bill Farmer will be reprising his role as Goofy (one of the most underappreciated Disney characters), Tony Anselmo will play perpertual hothead Donald Duck, and Mr. I see dead people himself, Haley Joel Osment, will be back to voice Sora.
That’s all Square Enix confirmed for today, but we are sure to see more big names revealed as we near the release date of January 29th, 2019.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
