Obviously that’s not the real subtitle of the mystery survival game, but things do take a turn for the worst. You play as private investigator Carl, a man who returned from the Korean war, on a job that was suppose to be a simple vandalism case. All we know so far is that things “get pretty rough” and nothing is what it seems in 1970’s Canada.
The developers really wanted to create an experience that had immersive atmosphere, complex gameplay, and in-depth storytelling. Their creation was Kona, a vintage and atmospheric game that blends mystery, adventure, and survival elements. The co-founder of the team even said, “It is more of an exploration and investigation game, a mix between Firewatch and Vanishing of Ethan Carter, in snowy environment.” Yes, please! The announcement trailer can be viewed above.
Kona is being developed by Parabole which is based in Quebec, Canada. It’s expected to release for the PlayStation 4 on March 17th and a few screens can be found below. Let’s just hope that this game won’t make us question our priorities like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. One of us here at Pure PlayStation was distraught for days after finishing that title.
