Respawn’s Titanfall 2 was a brilliant game that sold poorly. The shooter should have been roaring up the charts, but instead it kind of flopped sadly while Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare took the gaming world head-on. It was unclear as to whether a third game would get made; the industry tends to cut away from games that sell poorly.
Yet here this editor sits, writing that Titanfall 3 is apparently a thing. According to Kotaku, as part of EA’s purchase of Titanfall 3, the contract for the sale includes bonuses that are tied to Metacritic performances of Respawn’s upcoming Star Wars game and – wait for it – Titanfall 3. Yep, Titanfall 3 is mentioned by name in the contract, apparently, so perhaps we’ll be wallrunning and gunning again one day.
