A few hours ago it was released in a PlayStation Blogcast (from the 9 minute mark) that the hugely popular Metal Slug series will be receiving a PS4 re-release.
The Anthology comes in the form of an emulation and although it hasn’t previously been on the PS4, it was ported over to the Wii and PSP which did have their own respective issues with the re-release. By the time we receive Metal Slug on the PS4, we hope that all this has been tweaked and fixed, namely excessive loading times and small glitches such as hit flashes not showing up. We’ve had number 3 and it’s high time for the rest to follow.
Metal Slug is a classic, it’s a humorous, fast paced and slightly mad side-scrolling shooter. Although it is undoubtedly fun alone, if you have someone to play couch co-op with then Metal Slug’s enjoyment increases massively and becomes well worth investing in. We don’t yet have a price or release date but here is the list of games included within the Anthology:
- Metal Slug 2
- Metal Slug X
- Metal Slug 3
- Metal Slug 4
- Metal Slug 5
- Metal Slug 6
Keep your eyes peeled for a release date and prepare for some serious nostalgia, or even for the satisfaction of experiencing this series for the first time. Whether Metal Slug was part of your childhood or not, it’s well worth checking out.
Jake has been boring his friends with PlayStation news and trivia for years now so it’s about time he puts his thoughts and knowledge into words for you lot to appreciate…. hopefully.
