Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is due out in just under a week’s time, and to drum up a bit more hype (is it even possible?) Naughty Dog has taken to Twitch to host a live stream for fans of the series.
During the live stream, Robert Cogburn, Naughty Dog’s lead multiplayer designer was answering a question as to whether Uncharted 4 could potentially support split screen multiplayer. The guy wasn’t exactly confirming that it’s going to happen, but Cogburn did state that it was originally planned for the retail release but was put on the back-burner in order to get the game out on time and so that fans wouldn’t be stung by yet another delay.
Fair enough, then, but what about in the future? According to Cogburn, the team at Naughty Dog is “actively pursuing” the possibility of getting split screen multiplayer running with the game, though nothing is solid at the moment. It’s possible it could be added in via a future patch but we wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t come to fruition.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases on PS4 this May 10th. We, Pure PlayStation, can confirm that our review will be ready to read this Sunday, May 8th.
