Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer Thinks Uncharted 4’s Opening is the Studio’s Best One Yet

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’s release date is slowly but surely creeping up on us, and everyone here at Pure PlayStation is waiting with bated breath to see what Naughty Dog has in store for loyal fans of Drake and his merry band of mates.

Naughty Dog isn’t exactly making the wait any easier as it keeps on dropping little tidbits about the upcoming adventure but we’re lapping them all up like the greedy little pigs that we are. Naughty Dog is known for its cinematic approach to story-telling and if Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer is correct, we’re looking at one hell of an opening sequence in Uncharted 4.

“In my personal opinion this is our strongest beginning, opening sequence for games since the Last of Us, which was obviously very emotional, but I think this is probably one of the best opening sequences as well. That feeling of wanting to keep playing and wanting to know where it goes continues the entire game.”

Bloody teaser… Anyone who played The Last of Us knows how gut-wrenching the game’s first half an hour was as Joel went through some pretty traumatic stuff. We’re not ashamed to say that we actually thought about letting out a single manly tear, though we didn’t actually cry. Promise.

Looking forward to Uncharted 4? Of course you are but what do you want from the game? More emotional depth to the characters are some good ol’ silly fun like in the first three games? Quip your best one-liner in the comments section below.
