Persona 5 Tops PSN Downloads in April

Every month we look forward to seeing the most downloaded games. It feeds our need to be nosy, because we see what everyone else is playing. It can also be interesting, because it can sometimes show the success of a little indie game that could.

This month, there are two new games in the PS4 top ten list with the rest being hits from previous months. Starting with the new, Persona 5 was the top downloaded game in April, and Outlast 2 slid into the 8th spot.

Although both are sequels, we would not say they are AAA blockbusters. That does not mean they are not great. For the Outlast 2 review, our own Josh Robertson called it, “the horror experience of the year”, so check out his review for all the chilling details.

There are no real surprises in the rest of the top ten. The relentless GTA V continues its reign at number 2, a pair of Naughty Dog’s finest with Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection and The Last of Us Remastered at 3 and 4, MLB the show 17 staying alive at number 5, Rocket League maintaining its community darling status at sixth place, and Minecraft, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Ark at the 7th, 9th, and 10th spots.

Check out the full list of downloads here, including add-ons, PS3, PSVR, and the PS Vita, and give us your predictions for what games will join and leave the list for May. No fair picking GTA V, because we know it will be there.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
