Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier is a game that has somehow slipped under our radar. Set between the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes films, it tells the story of a group of humans and apes. The choices you make on both sides will push you closer to war or a fragile peace. Look, they made a film starting with the word war, so it doesn’t last.
Both sides have something to gain and lose. The narrative is promising things like rich and cinematic, and those are our cocaine. (Unless we have actual cocaine, and then that would be our cocaine. We kid, we kid. Hugs, not drugs, everybody.) We cannot resist a great story, and there are multiple endings to see how your different choices would have made a difference.
The game is being developed by The Imaginarium Studios, founded by Andy Serkis. He has acted in the Apes movies, but we will always know him for his work as Gollum. He knows a little about making compelling characters, so color us intrigued.
Check out the launch trailer, and let us know if this may ruin some of your Black Friday budget next Tuesday.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
