Konami may have lost the Champions League battle but it turns out they’re not ready to give up on the war. In a show of reignited force, the studio has announced a line-up of 8 new licenced leagues in Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 as they attempt to take the fight back to FIFA.
The new selection is made up of the Scottish league, Danish Superliga, Portuguese Liga NOS, Belgian Pro League, Swiss Super League, Superliga Argentine, Russian Premier Liga and Turkish Süper Lig. Each will be fully populated with real-life players, sponsorships and strips.
With respect to the Turkish league, all of your favourite “enthusiastic” teams will be present and correct, lining up in their licenced kits with stats updated weekly. We’re talking Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, but all 18 are included. But that’s not all.
In addition to the above, further links have been forged with teams closer to home, namely Liverpool, Celtic, Rangers and Barcelona. And players in the UK may be specifically chuffed to see a well developed representation of the Scottish league considering the “admiration” that exists between the Old Firm who share the city of Glasgow.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will be vying to keep Konami going in a time of uncertainty. If you can’t wait for the whistle, don’t forget there’s a planned demo kicking off on August 8th. Access can be found on the PlayStation Store.
