Today, we pulled the arm on the slot machine of PS Plus games, and we have hit a win. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the big name game for next month. It puts you in the shoes of Big Boss after Mother Base is destroyed, and you will have to rebuild your army with forced enlistment and stealing weapons and vehicles with powerful balloons. The story is less impressive than the world and visuals, but it is the last (for real this time) Metal Gear with Kojima at the helm. It is well worth your time.
The second game for the PS4 is Amnesia: Collection. You will be able to play A Machine for Pigs and The Dark Descent. For October, it will be a great game for those looking to up their level of scary things.
The rest of the games include two on the PS Vita that can also be played on the PS4 this month, so it is a PS4 heavy offering.
- Monster Jam Battlegrounds, PS3
- Hustle Kings, PS3
- Hue, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
- Sky Force Anniversary, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4 & PS3)
With the anniversary of the PSVR on October 10th, there are going to be some big sales. We are not sure what they will be yet, but it must be good to tell us in advance, right?
Speaking of PSVR, make sure you download RIGS: Mechanized Combat League while it is still free. The party game That’s You is also free until October 24th, but never delay on free. We live by that motto.
Let us know if the PS Plus offerings for next month are putting a smile on your face, or if this is another disappointment for the house of PlayStation.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
