Eurogamer has supposedly got the scoop on the new features that will be introduced with the incoming PS4 firmware update 5.0 – and to say we’re disappointed would be an understatement.
The biggest change looks to be that players will be able to stream on Twitch in 1080p and 60 frames-per-second, but only if they’re using a PS4 Pro. Considering this is the biggest addition to the PS4’s feature set with the upcoming update, you can see why we’re not all that excited about it. Seriously, how many people have a PS4 Pro?
Apparently there will be changes to how family accounts work, too, as well players being able to follow any PSN account they fancy, so long as that account hasn’t blocked them. The leak also states that notifications will be available via the PS4’s quick menu, meaning you can keep an eye on your downloads without having to jump around the PS4’s home screen.
This could all be bull poo for all we know, but we guess that the outlet does have a pretty decent track record when it comes to sharing confidential leaks. Oi, leakers, why not hit up your boy Pure PlayStation, yo?
The PS4 5.0 beta is due to start in the near future, so we’ll be able to see for ourselves whether the information is accurate. There’s no confirmed date as of yet for the beta but it’s supposedly starting later this month.
