This week’s feature way to lighten your wallet is a tribute to the convention that takes fragging from a hobby to a religion. QuakeCon starts on August 9th. Since id Software is owned by Bethesda, many shooty or stabby games have been discounted for the week. This includes discounts on Doom, Prey, and Wolfenstein, as well as Fallout and Skyrim. The PSVR titles are also discounted.
There are other games for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita for sale as well. You can snag Pac-Man 256 for $1.99, PixelJunk Monsters 2 for $8.99, Death Road to Canada, and a couple of Naruto games. There is a decent selection, so make sure you give it a look.
If you want to skip the sales, your new PS Plus games are ready to be downloaded. You can grab Mafia III (review) and Dead by Daylight: Special Edition for the PS4 and Here They Lie for the PSVR for free.
One more thing to keep in mind is that Bethesda should be giving us actual gameplay from Doom Eternal at QuakeCon in the next few days. With a scheduled 2019 release, it should be amazing, gory, and fast.
If you just want to browse the wares, all the games in this week’s sale can be found here.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
