Update 2.0 is bringing new characters and a new ranked mode to Dark Eclipse. Using skill-based matchmaking, the PSVR MOBA will keep it roughly challenging and fair, whether you are taking your first steps or whether you are looking to put your name at the top of the global leaderboard.
The game’s producer at developer SUNSOFT, Shohei Sakakibara, said the update was for the competitive fans.
“As MOBAs are an inherently competitive genre, the focus of this major update is to further foster and enhance competition in DARK ECLIPSE by allowing players to see how they stack up against other dedicated fans with our global leaderboard.”
As you try to be one of the top 100 in the world, you can use three new characters to dominate your opponents. Zahina can heal friends and harm foes with her area of effect attack. Dosmelda is a strategic assassin who can zip to the target, attack, and move away quickly. Finally, Destrophe is a tank that can use ranged attacks. The new characters should give you a few more options.
As a thank you to players, you can earn a special skin in the new mode. If you own at least two heroes and four dominators and reach gold status in a ranked match, you can unlock the item.
DARK ECLIPSE is another unique game for the PSVR. A combination of MOBA and RTS, it uses VR to put you into the match. You can select your team from a group of characters, move them around the map, and engage the computer or human opponents as you try to destroy the other player’s base. It is free-to-play, so you can jump into a game and give it a try.
Press Release from SUNSOFT
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
