Sony and Bluepoint Games have released some new footage today of Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, though the footage itself is coming straight from a PS4 Pro console.
There’s a full 14-minute gameplay run above with some insight from the developers of the remake, Bluepoint Games. Bluepoint, you may remember, was responsible for porting the Uncharted trilogy to PS4, providing a few enhancements along the way, including 60 frames-per-second gameplay. Curiously, Shadow of the Colossus seems to not target 60fps as it’s mentioned that the video running above is running on a “targeted” 60fps mode available on PS4 Pro.
Shadow of the Colossus was originally released on PS2 and is being completely remade from the ground up for PS4. It seems strange, then, that Bluepoint isn’t aiming for 60fps on regular PS4. Things may change, however, so we’ll have to wait and see what the end product looks like when it releases on February 6th, 2018.
