PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) doesn’t have a PS4 release date. Heck, it hasn’t even been announced for the platform yet, though that may be changing sometime in the near future.
PUBG was announced at this year’s E3 for the Xbox One, with Microsoft helping out with development as well as publishing the game on the Xbox One. Many took it that the game was going to be an Xbox One exclusive for Microsoft, what with the Redmond-based firm ploughing money into the title. That doesn’t seem to be the case, though, as the developer behind PUBG, Bluehole, has been actively talking with Sony about getting the game ported to the PS4.
To be honest, we kind of saw this one coming. There was never any actual announcement that the game was going to be a timed-exclusive or a full-exclusive for the Xbox One, and it’d be daft to think that a) Sony wouldn’t want the hottest game right now on its system and b) that the developer, Bluehole, would want to miss out on the potential sales from the platform with the larger userbase.
Our bet is that we’ll see PUBG release on Xbox One this year, and then follow onto PS4 around this time next year. Probably…
