Well, well, well. Here we are once again, ladies and gentlemen: the weekend. We’ve all been grinding that hard grind all week, making that cheese, bringing home the proverbial bacon, and generally just being good little workers. We’ve slaved for “the man” Monday til Friday, but now is our time! We will rise up! We will not take any orders! We will be free! Too far? Too far.
As long time readers will be aware, Pure PlayStation Plays is in its 77th week. For newcomers (howdy!) here’s a quick breakdown as to what Pure PlayStation Plays is: we, the people behind your favourite PlayStation site (or second, or third, or fourth favourite…) share our weekend gaming plans, no matter how embarrassing they may be. We also invite you to share yours down in the comments section which is down below. It’s simple enough, yet can you believe that nobody has ever commented on a single one of these bloody articles? Seriously, we know you read the damn things so get involved! Please… We’re lonely… Alright, enough of the sob story, here’s what Pure PlayStation is playing this weekend.
I’m having a mini holiday! Whoo! It’s come out of nowhere and is as last-minute as you could get, but it means that my beloved PlayStation will not be touched until Sunday. However, I will still get my gaming in while on the road but it won’t be with a PlayStation device. Sorry, folks, but my Nintendo Switch will be getting the love with Mario Kart and FIFA 18. That being said, I’ll binge the crap out of Rec Room on my return (it’s cracking!) and I’ll be dipping into a couple of top-secret games for review purposes. Alright, they’re not top-secret… The truth is that I’ve no idea what I’ll be playing. There goes any air of mystery…
I will be working on a review or two this weekend. I am still determined to slowly eliminate my growing backlog, so I can eventually join a side in the hot office debate around Horizon Zero Dawn.
A bit of a mixed bag this week, between family stuff and house stuff I intend to polish off Final Fantasy IX and hopefully the Destiny 2 Raid – being a largely solo gamer jumping online with five others that I actually, properly know is the only way I feel I can do it so as not to get abused for sounding weird because I come from the north of England. Like well beyond the wall and into white walker north. That far.
As I’m like the walking dead at the moment, I will be taking it easy with another run through of Ratchet and Clank. It’s one of those games that I can’t see myself parting with, and it’s one I always find myself replaying. Visually, it is stunning and plays like a Pixar Blockbuster. Gameplay wise, it encompasses all of the best world building and mechanics that have been offered previously without it feeling like a well trodden road. In short it’s perfect, unlike this Plays. Short, that is.
This weekend is going to be less hectic than most these past few weeks. Although November and December are going to be crazy weekends. This time however, I got The Evil Within 2 to finish up and for whatever reason I’ve had a resurgence in Rocket League and GWENT cravings alongside Everybody’s Golf. Also, got into the beta for Rec Room so we’ll see how that handles.
Chris has been writing about gaming news for far too long, and now he’s doing it even more. A true PlayStation know-it-all, Chris has owned just about every Sony console that ever existed. Trophies are like crack to this fella.
