The Rec Room PSVR closed beta has come to an end. It’s not a sad thing, though, as that means the game will be going into its open beta very, very soon, as announced by the game’s developer, Against Gravity.
The open beta will begin tomorrow (November 21st) on PS4/PSVR and will be completely free. You’ll be able to jump online and give the game a whirl whilst mingling with other players – even if you don’t have PS Plus. The developers have also stated that it’s going to be a cross-play beta, so you’ll be playing with the PCVR folk as well as your fellow PSVR enthusiasts.
Rec Room is a social game where players can gather in a shared lobby to chill out, chat, and arrange to play in any of the game’s activities. It’s pretty decent from what we played of the closed beta, though it’s still being refined as we speak. If you’ve got a PSVR headset lying around we say it’s definitely worth having a look. Free is free, right?
