Little under a week ago, rumours starting circulating about the file size of Red Dead Redemption 2. The spurs-wearing sequel was quoted as being 100GB in size, which was met by groans from both players and consoles alike. We had hoped that it would come in under the century mark; surely there’s no way in cowboy hell that a game, today, could need so much room! But alas, all hope is now gone.
There can be no arguing with the figures published on Rockstar’s website, which mirror those batted around over the last few days. That means we’d all better start choosing our favourites amongst our digital offspring and start binning the rest. After all, there’s not just the 100 gigabytes we have to make room for – the console needs an extra 50GB clear if you’re wanting to download the game off the PlayStation Store. Ouch!
Luckily, the pre-load is available from tomorrow, which gives you a good week and a bit too get everything in order. Not that that is much consolation when you come round to re-installing the others. Our advice? Just pour yourself a Scotch, gnaw on a toothpick and tell yourself it’s worth it because we are darn sure it is.
Are your cowboy boots spit-polished ready for Red Dead Redemption 2? Or are you waiting to see if it’s a stirrup from the first before cantering in? Our saloon is open for comments so come on in!
