I am going to write a short article, because, let’s face it, you already know whether this game is for you. You know that living like an outlaw in the changing West is a thing you do or do not want. You know that your pulse quickens when you think about robbing a train or bank. (Don’t worry. I am mostly talking about games.)
On the slim chance that there is someone reading this who doesn’t quite know for sure, Rockstar dropped a second gameplay trailer today, and it is all about the little things. When you are not playing the next story mission, how will you be spending your time? It looks like there is plenty in the world to keep you from even thinking about story missions. There is a quick shot of a game of cards and other games, pursuing bounties, and loansharking.
The world is rough, and some of that comes from people like you. As you explore, you can rob people, kill them, or come across people who need both robbing and killing. There are events in the world, and you can be a part of them. Or not. Whatever actions you take, people will remember you.
For those of you too highbrow to casually earn your living with the sword, you can watch a show, give to the poor, change your clothes, choose your guns, and eat. You can also bathe and shave. Once again, or not. If you want some peace or quiet, you can go fishing. Just watch yourself in the woods. There are wolves who want a bite to eat too.
Rockstar has shown us a decent amount, and there is so much more to see in this trailer. Red Dead Redemption II releases on October 26th, and we are all hoping it lives up to our expectations.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
