Do you feel like you’ve seen and heard it all when it comes to gaming? Try this. You are a guy named Yuta, and you have a problem. Whenever you see a girl’s panties, you pass out. One day during a bus hijacking, you meet a superhero, and your soul is somehow separated from your body. This seems great for pulling pranks and seeing more panties, but, when you pass out this time, an asteroid hits the Earth causing everyone to die. Travelling back in time, Yuta must figure out why his soul was separated and stop the destruction of the Earth and the panties he loves so much.
That is what we call a unique scenario in games. It probably won’t find its way into the next Call of Duty. It is written by Kotaro Uchikoshi. He has written the Zero Escape series, so he knows a little about writing unconventional narratives. If you can’t wait, you can check out the anime on Crunchyroll.
The visual novel Punch Line will put you in ghost form, and you will look for panties and pull pranks on the girls in a house. You can move through the house, but you will need to be careful not to look too much, or your efforts to save the world will end in another apocalypse.
Europe will have Punch Line first on August 31st, but North America will have to wait until September 25th.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
