The next update for Rocket League will retire a number of the game’s Champion Crates, with the developer planning on continuing to do so with others roughly six months after their launch.
It will not affect any stashed in your inventory, however, with them continuing to be available for use or trade.
It is a move designed to free up space for new crates and increase their drop frequency post match. The Champion series will be the first to face the chop.
This retirement ONLY affects drops, so if you already have Champion Crates in your inventory, or want to trade Champion Crates to other players after their retirement, you will still be able to do so.
Items found inside retired Crates could still come back at a later date. Some items are already available in other Crates, like those found in the Player’s Choice Crate we released in February.
The update is due out in the summer, so stock up on crates whilst you still have the chance. And Psyonix will publish details of future Crates on their website prior to their release.
