Lara Croft risks her life to visit some of the most dangerous places. I can see why. Despite the quest and treasure, these places are beautiful. Whether walking through jungles, climbing mountains, or delving into dark tombs, she picks places with a view.
The latest trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider is very short, but, if you love the series like I do, any new footage is just another toot of the hype train’s whistle. There are some quick cuts of locations that you will visit, and Lara looks mostly peaceful. It must be the moment before she jumps over a huge chasm to hug a rock wall.
This trip Lara is trying to stop a Mayan apocalypse, and it will be the last game in the trilogy that forges her into the tomb raider we all know. She seemed pretty capable the last time, so we will all need to wait to see what changes. Perhaps, the tomb raider club has a secret checklist for applicants, and the last item is to save the world.
We’ll know for sure when we join Lara’s next adventure in Shadow of the Tomb Raider on September 14th.
Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
