It has been a long time coming but Spider-Man has finally got a release date. Game Informer has published that the red-onesie clad superhero will be swinging on to consoles September 7th. But that’s not all.
The Sony exclusive will learn from its peers and not include any microtransactions – a wise move considering the backlash that the likes of Battlefront 2 received for their ‘pay to play’ features. But it will include a photo mode, which has proven popular in other top releases. After all, everybody’s a David Bailey.
Gameplay will be locked at 30fps and boast PS4 Pro support, though that statement hasn’t been expanded upon yet. And New York’s subway will act as a fast travel system (as if we’d get bored swinging from the skyline!) whilst the main man himself will be able to level up with a crafting system.
But unfortunately there’ll be no delivering pizza. You will, however, be able to high five with the public so it’s all give and take.
In addition to the above features, Insomniac Games has also detailed their intended post-launch support, which will feature three additional chapters. These downloadable add-ons will be filled with extra missions, characters and costumes, and fall under the subtitle of ‘Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps’. We don’t think we’ll be sleeping much after September 7th!
Game Informer has promised a month of unveiling, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for further developments. You’ll see them here as soon as anything’s said!
In the meantime, how about swinging a comment into the box below. Let us know if your Spidey senses are tingling! But keep it clean…
