Remember when we posted an article a few days ago with the leaked Star Wars Battlefront 2 reveal trailer? That trailer was just a taste as EA and DICE have now revealed the extended reveal trailer along with a ton of new details about the upcoming shooter, including the release date: November 17th, 2017.
To start with, the new trailer is embedded above. Click it. Watch it. Soak it all in. Done? Good, now read on for the details on Star Wars Battlefront 2’s single-player story mode and online multiplayer.
EA and DICE announced during the Star Wars Celebration live stream that Battlefront 2 won’t have a Season Pass. Bernd Diemer, DICE’s Battlefront 2 creative director made the announcement that there would be no Season Pass, going on to say that the studio “decided on that, and it’s one of those difficult decisions because it has so many implications all around.” He then went on to explain why the Season Pass has been ditched for Battlefront 2: “When we looked at the way Battlefront had evolved over its lifetime, with the DLC and everything, we decided, ‘You know what? For this type of game, season passes are not the best thing. We need to [take it apart] and come up with something better.”
We’re guessing that Battlefront 2 will probably be supported with micro transactions. So loot boxes, skins, emotes – that kind of stuff. So long as it doesn’t turn into a pay-to-win situation, we don’t think that there’ll be much criticism directed at EA and DICE.
There’s more info down below in the embedded images. You’ll find the information on multiplayer (yes, it’s still capped at 40 players) and the game’s campaign which will take place across 30 years. Interesting, no?
