Telltale Drops New Details for Their Upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Game

Telltale Games gave us some new info on their upcoming game set in the Guardians of the Galaxy universe. They will be releasing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series later this spring with a physical disc that operates as a season pass to allow you to download the episodes as they become available.

You will see the game through the eyes of Star-Lord. Your team of morally questionable heroes will find a powerful artifact that everyone wants, including a very nasty villain. She is the last of her species, so she has no one to be disappointed by her bad behavior. Our fingers are crossed that it is an infinity stone, but the universe is a big place.

The voice acting will include Nolan North as the smack talking and gun-toting Rocket, Brandon Paul Eells as easily angered Drax, Emily O’Brien as Gamora, Scott Porter as Star-Lord, and Adam Harrington as the ever-eloquent Groot. We are looking forward to seeing what Telltale has in mind for the musical selections in its soundtrack.

If you want to see the game in action, you have two chances very soon. There will be a panel at PAX East on March 10th to hear about the game from Bill Rosemann, Marvel Games Creative Director. You can also watch the 6:00 PM (EST) stream on Twitch.

The next opportunity will be one week later at SXSW. The game will allow people in the auditorium to use Crowd Play on their mobile devices to determine the choices that are made in the game, so it will really be a unique experience.

We like Telltale Games, because they produce some of the best story-based games and characters. Guardians of the Galaxy seems like the perfect partnership for both sides, and we will definitely be keeping an eye on this one. With that said, we would love to see any news on Season 2 of The Wolf Among Us. Pretty please.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
