Square Enix has announced today that Final Fantasy IX will indeed release on PS4, as we previously wrote about. What’s more is that it’s actually releasing today, September 19th, 2017. Well, that came out of nowhere.
Announced during the PlayStation conference at this year’s Tokyo Games Show, Final Fantasy IX for PS4 will come with a few upgrades over the original release. For one, there will be HD movies and character models. Then you’ve got auto-saving, something of a God-send. There are also seven game-changing (optional) booster features.
In addition to the above, you’ve also got your standard PS4 trophies as well as PS Vita remote play support, for those who are still carrying a Vita through its last days.
There’s a special introductory price offer for Final Fantasy IX that’ll run until September 26th. From now until then you can get the game for $16.79, and then once the special price offer has expired, the game will cost $20.99.
