After a few days of murmured rumours, it has been officially confirmed that The Sims 4 is coming to PlayStation 4. So put down that keyboard and pick up a controller, life will never be the same again. Goodbye time…
Though this is not the franchise’s first foray on to consoles, it will be the first time that the same gaming experience can be enjoyed away from the computer screen; until now, technological limitations has meant ports of the make-believe simulation have offered a different, and lesser, version to that found on PC. But this golden age of technological marvel that we are now living in has put an end to inequality. Hoorah!
In case you have made it to 2017 without dubbing yourself a “Simmer”, let us enlighten you on the world of Sims. You, the player, act as a god of sorts, tasked with moulding and then controlling your Sims (people) as they go about their daily lives. Build your dream house, start that perfect family, or drown your nosey neighbour by removing the step-ladder from the pool and watching as their stamina and hunger drains to a deadly naught; the world is very much your psychopathic oyster.
It is a sandbox game with an unrivaled character creation tool, which offers a different gaming experience for each day and every person you take control of. What more can we say?
At the moment, the team are tirelessly working to ensure the transition is one of beauty, testing every nook and cranny to search out and quash those evil bugs determined to ruin our gaming joy. But in the meantime pre-orders are open, offering a few choices and tempting extras to tease your purse strings open.
A pre-order of the Standard Edition will snag you The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff Pack, bursting with hot tubs and décor to compliment the base offering.
But if you are anything but ‘Standard’, The Sims 4 Deluxe Party Edition offers all of the above and then some. The game will be available three whole days before its official release and will come bundled with:
- Life of the Party Digital Content, featuring the Flaming Tiki Bar and sleek, stylized outfits for your Sims;
- Up All Night Digital Content, featuring the Laser Light Show, fun decorations, and outrageous party costumes;
- Awesome Animal Hats Digital Content, featuring a collection of fun animal hats for your Sims to wear and show off.
The Sims 4 launches on PlayStation 4 November 17th. Stay tuned for future updates.
