We’re seeing more and more Steam games make their way over to the PS4 these days. We say, more games, more good, so long may it continue. Publishers THQ Nordic and Wired Productions have two such offerings coming our way this Spring, with the definitive editions of both ARPG Victor Vran and psychological thriller The Town of Light. In a continuation of the Publishers’ retail partnership, the Victor Vran: Overkill Edition and the new and improved The Town of Light will come with numerous enhancements from their original digital PC releases. You can check out the trailer for Victor Vran above and The Town of Light a little further down, then read on for the low-down on both. Or check out our previous articles on the console announcements for the games.
Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is an improved version of the diablo-like ARPG, featuring enhanced visuals and running at 60fps. The Overkill Edition comes along with two new content expansions, Fractured Worlds, which adds a new chapter to the game’s story and Motörhead: Through the Ages – a wild heavy metal adventure inspired by, endorsed by, and starring the Loudest Band in the World. Given the game’s focus is on smashing demons along to rock, we believe the late, great Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister would approve. Of course, Victor Vran: Overkill Edition also includes the four player online co-op and copious looting that made the original game popular.
The Town of Light is a very different proposition. This first person, psychological thriller is set in a former mental asylum in the picturesque Italian region of Tuscany. Players guide sixteen year old Renee as she discovers her past while dealing with her own symptoms of mental illness. This enhanced edition includes a raft of updates with new puzzles, story elements, reworked voiceovers, additional interactive elements and a UI and graphical overhaul. Incidentally, for anyone who owns the digital edition of the game on PC, this update will added to the game free of charge.
Victor Vran: Overkill Edition from Haemimont Games and The Town of Light from LKA.it are both set to release in their new editions for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in the late Spring 2017. Will you be picking up one or both? Let us know down in the comments.
