According to Andrew House, global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment video game division, Vince Gilligan and Sony are working on continuing the story of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Will it be an episodic retelling of the terminally ill science teacher turned meth cook/drug kingpin, or the continuing adventures? Details have been scarce, although it has been confirmed that it won’t be a video game. Andrew House explained:
“We set up a day at our campus where we brought seven of the best show runners [Sony Pictures Television] work with, like David Shore of ‘The Blacklist’ and Ron Moore, who did ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ Vince and some other folks. And they just played around with VR. Several of them were intrigued, but Vince was the one who said, ‘I really want to do something with this. I want to experiment with this.’”
Although the folks at Sony insist the project isn’t a game, the experience will utilize computer graphics and Sony’s game team will work with Gilligan on the project. If you’re unfamiliar with the Breaking Bad universe, first of all, shame on you, and second of all, go binge it on Netflix and right this terrible wrong. And while you’re at it, ask yourself what other mistakes you may be making right now.
