We’re still a fair bit away from Dark Souls 3’s, April 12th, release date, but that hasn’t stopped the game’s publishers, Bandai Namco, and developers, From Software, from releasing the opening cinematic. Now obviously you should be aware of spoilers, but considering it’s the opening cinematic it’ll be the first thing you see when you boot up the game, so we wouldn’t worry to much about watching the video unless you want to avoid everything to do with the game before playing it.
The opening itself is pretty cool, although a fairly typical Souls affair. It shows off a few of the bosses, which look incredible as always, and it gives you a little background to the lore and setting. We also just want to give a shout-out to the music, the soundtracks are a reason in and of themselves for trying out the Souls series. Enjoy the video.
Psst. Did you know we’re on Twitter? We’ve got a brand new account and it’s looking a bit empty. Give us a follow and stay up to date with the latest PlayStation news. We don’t bite (unless you’re into that).
Conor is Pure PlayStation’s resident Irishman. Naturally that means he’s constantly slurring his words and turning up stinking of Guiness with a potato in his pocket. It’s not all bad though, because Conor is also a PlayStation nut. When he’s not doing his best Father Jack impression (Father Ted, watch it) he’s got a DualShock 4 in his hand and a Vita in the other. Yeah, we don’t know how he manages it either.
