Assassin’s Creed: Origins is one of the more interesting games in the series, and we are curious about what has changed. With a new setting in ancient Egypt, it should be a big break from previous games, well…except for all the assassinations, climbing everywhere, and a general consistent universe. Still, we are glad Ubisoft is pushing us to a rather unique time.
In order to tell us about all the changes, a new video series named The Codex has been created. This week’s episode starts with some of the art and lighting . The game is looking every bit as good as you might imagine, and we are parched just looking at the desert.
Next week has more on the combat, but they did share that it will change dramatically. In Origins, the distance and speed of your weapon will make a bigger difference as the entire system is based on hit boxes. The location and position of the enemies will force you to take a different approach as well.
Finally, the community is welcome to drop them any questions on Twitter, and some of them may be used in the next Q&A.
We look forward to sliding down the edge of a pyramid when Assassin’s Creed: Origins sneaks onto shelves on October 27th.
