Meridiem Games and Reco Technology have announced today that they’ll be releasing the upcoming turn-based strategy RPG game 1971 Project Helios on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch a little later this year, and we’re getting a batch of screens to show it off to the world. Unfortunately, it’s a vague “Q2” release window, but essentially it means sometime this Spring.
So what is 1971 Project Helios? It’s a turn-based strategy RPG set in a dystopian world that has been razed by the extreme cold. You’ll take control of a group of mercenaries who have to put their differences aside in an effort to survive the hostile world and to find the scientist who may be able to fix the world. There’s exploration, combat, resource management, dialogues, and a lot more to put your strategic skills to the test.
If you want a look at the game, we’ve got the initial teaser trailer up above, and then a whole gallery of new screenshots down below.
- Fight in turn-based tactical combats against three different factions, each one with their own units, strengths and weaknesses
- Explore the vast world of 1971 Project Helios. From military facilities to medieval dungeons, each one of them is full of secrets waiting to be discovered
- Improve your characters’ skill trees: unlock, improve and match different skills to create the perfect character
- Manage your resources carefully to raise your HP, relive units or shorten your cooldowns
