From the studio that brought us The Bard’s tale, comes The Mage’s Tale, the one-time Oculus exclusive that is now in development for the PlayStation VR. We don’t have an exact release date at this time, but according to developer InXile, the PSVR version is “coming soon.” The Mage’s Tale is set between the events of the Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate and the upcoming The Bard’s Tale IV.
The Mage’s Tale is allegedly a 10 plus hour dungeon crawler set in the dungeons below Skara Brae. You’ll be able to cast hundreds of spells as you explore the dungeon, solve puzzles, and fight innumerable creatures. Both the Vive and Rift version features Smooth Movement, but we haven’t been able to confirm that option for the PSVR. We here at Pure PlayStation expect Smooth Movement to be featured, (it will be crucified by hardcore VR gamers if it doesn’t) but we have no confirmation as of yet.
As you can see from the trailer above, The Mage’s Tale looks beautiful and only adds to the already impressive and expanding library for the trusty PlayStation headset. Keep it locked at Pure PlayStation for more news on The Mage’s Tale as we get it.
