UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe: Late[st] is a title with a lot of action in the actual title and in the game itself. Released on Steam in 2016, Arc System Works and French Bread developed this game with twenty different characters including some new to the series. So far, there is no mention of a season pass to get all these characters. They are just included in the game with 19 different stages to bring the pain.
You can fight 1v1 battles individually, but there is a chronicle mode to give you a decent length story to help you know why you are fighting. It revolves around the organization Night Blade and its duty to protect the Hollow Night. The Hollow Night has Voids which feed on the power there and in-births who use the power for themselves.
The leader of Night Blade, Linne, meets a young boy with a legendary sword. Together, they uncover a conspiracy and fight a mysterious figure named Paradox.
A tutorial mode is included for those less coordinated or those who want to make sure they can master every combo. This should be very helpful to try some new moves and really learn your favorite character.
The most surprising aspect of this game is that it is coming to the PS4, PS3, and the PS Vita, so you can play it no matter what you own. There is no word on cross-play, but, if you have yet to make the transition to the PS4, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe: Late[st] has you covered.
We have some screenshots below, but check out the trailer to really appreciate the animation and style. UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe: Late[st] will release on February 9th.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
