Bad news for Final Fantasy XV fans: The planned DLC is all but cancelled, with only one of the four planned expansions set to release.
The news came by way of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy livestream where the publisher read out a letter from Tabata, announcing the famed director is quitting Square Enix and that most of the planned DLC is cancelled.
The character episodes, Episode Noctis, Episode Lunafreya, and Episode Aranea will not be releasing, though Episode Ardyn is still set to release in March of next year.
It’s a blow to fans of the series and the game itself, but one can’t help wondering if it’s for the best? With its botched launch and reworked story being patched in at a later date, Final Fantasy XV hasn’t been an overwhelming success for Square, nor has it been the perfect game that players have waited the better part of a decade for.
