A New PAC-MAN Game Is A Coming

Bandai Namco is producing a sequel to its 2007 hit PAC-MAN Championship Edition. It’s aptly named PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 and will release in September for the PlayStation 4. The new game will feature 3D mazes, unique visuals, dynamic mazes, a new ability to bump ghosts, and giant sized ghost boss battles. We’re going to need a bigger mouth. The sequel will see the return of the chain eating mechanic and Score Attack mode. In addition there will be a new adventure mode where those big ghosties come into play.

Terrific gameplay is always in fashion and after 36 years as a videogame icon, PAC-MANstill brings fun and smiles to the faces of countless gamers around the world.” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “PAC-MAN has always promoted friendly competition, and we’re chomping at the bit to see PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION 2 ignite friendly rivalries among friends and families to achieve the highest score.

The trailer for the title features fast-paced gameplay set to electric/house music. In some of the footage you’ll see that once a level is completed a big ghost will break forth and start to chase you. Color me intrigued.
