The latest UK sales chart shows that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown reached a flight level of 2 in its opening week. This secured the series its best ever launch, with PlayStation sales proving particularly strong.
In total, 76% of copies sold were for Sony’s console, probably inflated as a result of PSVR support. But the chart fails to include any actual numbers, so the true sales figures remain a mystery.
We can’t help but feel, however, that Bandai Namco will be happy with their lot. After all, it was only one place from the top spot, which is being dominantly held by a certain family of plumbers. And it was one ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2 despite its narrower niche.
The rest of the chart remains rather unchanged, with FIFA 19, Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 all staying put. There should be a few changes coming, though, when you consider the games that are due out in the coming weeks – Kingdom Hearts III, Metro Exodus, Resident Evil 2. Only time (and sales) will tell.
Has Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown left you reaching for the sick bag? Or are you a Sully in the making?
