INVERSUS has a pretty unique set-up and is being developed by the one man team at Hypersect. It is a negative-space shooter for one to four friends (online and local) where each player is constrained to the opposite color of their character. So if you’re black you can only go on white tiles and will be killed if shot by white pellets. Each shot from either player will flip tile colors in a row by attempting to trap, block, and close in on the opponent. Don’t worry if it sounds confusing the trailer below will clear it right up.
“One of the key things I’ve taken from working as the lead sandbox engineer on the multiplayer shooter, Destiny, is the critical attention to feel and feedback in gameplay,” said Hypersect’s Ryan Juckett. “It’s what players will notice right away in INVERSUS, and something I’ve consistently seen people enjoy.”
INVERSUS will launch on August 16th for the PlayStation. It will cost you $14.99. Some of the features include gameplay-first design, thirty unique maps, competitive 1v1 & 2v2 battles, world leaderboards, and constantly changing boards with each match.
